WORSHIP The worship services at First Baptist Church are the heart of the ministry here. The worship service is prayerfully designed to focus completely on Christ and His Word by exalting and glorifying Him in every detail. We meet for worship every Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. and Sunday evenings at 5:30 p.m. At FBC we are under the strong conviction that worship is multi-faceted. We worship the Lord by offering Him praise through music, we honor Him through our cheerful giving, We strive to serve Him faithfully using our gifts in service. The most important part of worship is the teaching and preaching of God’s Word. That is what has the power to change lives. CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES FBC provides compassionate and practical Biblical instruction to children of all ages thru: Sunday School 9:00 a.m. each Sunday Toddler Church/Children’s Church at 10:00 a.m. each Sunday AWANA Clubs 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays (Sept. thru May) We have many important ministries for our children. They include Sunday School, Toddler Church, Children’s Church on Sundays, AWANA on Wednesdays and periodic choirs and musicals for special events. TODDLER/CHILDREN’S CHURCH FBC is a wonderful place for young children. We whole-heartedly believe that the seeds that we plant within our children while they are young are essential if we desire for them to make their faith their own as they grow older. As we are being fed the truths from God’s Word in the 10:00 worship service on Sundays, our children through 4th grade are learning in Children’s Church the truths taught by capable teachers who can relate at their learning level. AWANA CLUBS AWANA Clubs are an exciting time on Wednesday evenings from September through May. The time is 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. This is a time to learn about God’s Word and enjoy fast-paced games and fun activities. We recognize the importance of training our children in the ways of the Lord. AWANA is just one tool to assist our parents in teaching and training their children. Nursery during AWANA Clubs is for children of parents who are in the Adult Bible Study or working in the AWANA Clubs. Cubbies - ages 3-5 Sparks - Kindergarten thru 2 Truth in Training - 3rd – 6h grade In all of our children’s instructional times and events our goal is that they will learn foundational biblical truth that will shape the course of their lives. TEEN MINISTRY The teenage years can be a very difficult time for our young people as well as for the parents. It is important for us to channel their energies into positive and productive times of spiritual growth. Our desire is to help equip our students to make their faith their own and to develop a passion to share how Christ has impacted them personally. We seek to do this by providing a time when we worship God with our praise, the study of His Word to understand His purpose and will for our lives. Along the way we enjoy some fun activities and involve ourselves in acts of service to put our faith into practice. “BAND OF BROTHERS” - Men’s Discipleship Something powerful happens when a dozen men come together with a common focus around the person and work of Jesus Christ. In this setting, masks and walls can be removed and an honest fellowship and brotherhood begins. Our Men’s Discipleship ministry accomplishes just that. We spend nine months equipping men to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We offer two levels of training lasting for 35 weeks. Beginning with "Basic Training" and moving into "Discipleship Training", we are dedicated to building spiritual growth and maturity into the lives of Christian men. Band of Brothers is a ministry designed to equip Christian men for maturity in Christ and fulfillment of the mandate for discipleship in Matthew 28:18-20. WOMEN’S MINISTRIES The women’s ministries at FBC vary from time to time. We have Ladies Bible Studies in which we have used materials from Juanita Purcell, Elyse Fitzpatrick, Joanne Weaver and Nancy Leigh DeMoss. We often do service projects for an outreach or to help at our own church. There are opportunities at the Alpha Women’s Center and helping those among us who need help from time to time. We encourage our brides-to-be and moms-to-be with showers and fellowship. Many of our women are active in the social committee which assists in the banquets and fellowships we have throughout the year. We also send a monthly e-newsletter out to our ladies to share ideas and requests and good encouraging information for our practical daily living. We have periodic Encouragers Meetings for fellowship and of course to encourage one another in our walk with the Lord. |
